Vidyut Prasad

Vidyut Prasad, a 5th-grade student, has been immersed in the world of Carnatic Music for over six years. His musical journey commenced under the tutelage of Sri. Shiva Kumar Bhat in the San Francisco Bay Area before continuing with early lessons from Sri. Subramanian Janardhanan in the Greater Seattle region. Subsequently, he has been honing his skills through advanced lessons and training with Vidushi Amrutha Venkatesh for over four years.

 

His musicality has been acknowledged through numerous victories in competitions worldwide, evaluated by esteemed musicians and artists. Among his notable achievements are securing first prizes in competitions such as Shravya by the Sudhaarnava Academy, Sampada by the Silicon Andhra University, Malaysia International Carnatic Music Festival, and the International Music Premier League. He was also honored with the Saptami Star Award in Dallas, TX, for his success in various Manodharma competitions. He also won several prizes in the Cleveland Tyagaraja Festival and was the runner up in the Concert Competition in Apr 2025.

 

Vidyut actively contributes to the promotion of Carnatic music, regularly performing concerts at various temples in the Greater Seattle region. Additionally, he is deeply involved in fundraising initiatives and volunteering for charitable causes. Beyond Carnatic music, Vidyut displays versatility as an accomplished pianist, boasting a collection of medals. Furthermore, he exhibits his passion for basketball, having played a pivotal role in securing two consecutive season titles for his team in the previous year.
